The ECSGA represents over 1500 shellfish farmers from Maine to Florida. These proud stewards of the marine environment produce sustainable farmed shellfish while providing thousands of jobs in rural coastal towns.
The purpose of this association shall be to promote the interests of practicing commercial aquaculturists in the State of Rhode Island, and through a program of public education and active participation in policy formation to create an atmosphere in which a commercial aquaculture industry may develop and grow.
The Rhode Island Agricultural Mediation Program - the official USDA-certified program for our state - offers free, confidential assistance to help resolve agriculture-related issues in a productive environment. The goal is to help growers resolve disputes creatively, with less time and less cost than traditional methods.
